Course in Oil Spill Response Management

The Course in Oil Spill Response Management (IMO 2 Equivalent) provides participants with the knowledge and skills required to contribute to the management and coordination of oil spill response activities.
Introduction:
Target Audience:
Designed for industry personnel involved in an organisation’s Incident Management Team (IMT), including personnel with management experience or team working skills at a supervisory level.
Learning Outcomes:
- The course offers practical and theoretical opportunities to develop skills and knowledge in the following:
- Fundamentals of oil spill response,
- Roles and responsibilities of Incident Management Team Functions - (Planning, Operations, Logistics, Finance & Administration),
- Working within a multi-agency, cross-jurisdictional oil spill team,
- Development and implementation of incident action plans, and
- Utilise Oil Pollution Emergency Plans to identify, analyse and evaluate information to select, locate and coordinate oil spill response strategies, equipment and other resources.
Learning Methods:
Face-to-face: Classroom at AMOSC (3 days) Scenario Simulations (1 day face-to-face)
Program Benefits:
- To train and qualify personnel for employment in an Oil Spill Incident Control Centre (ICC).
